Perkins number one in Puerto Rico BSN for week 28

American Power forward Nick Perkins (203-F/C-1996) put on an extraordinary performance in the last week for top-ranked Indios de Mayaguez, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for week 28.
The 28-year old player had a double-double of 34 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat Aguada (#6, 10-20) 116-108. It allowed Indios to consolidate first place in the Puerto Rican BSN. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Mayaguez has a very solid 20-12 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Perkins had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Indios, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Nick Perkins averages this season 20.3ppg and 7.7rpg.

The second best player in last week's games was young Cuban center Ismael Romero (205-C-1991) of Mets de Guaynabo. Romero had a very good evening with a double-double of 28 points and 11 rebounds. It was enough for Mets to edge the higher-ranked Quebradillas (#2, 20-13) 115-113. Guaynabo's 5th position in Group A has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 11-21 record. Romero is one of the most experienced players at Guaynabo and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.6ppg (#8). He also registered 10.1 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last week was American forward Kristian Doolittle (201-F-1997, agency: Pensack Sports) of Gigantes de Carolina (#4). Doolittle showcased his all-around game by recording 24 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists in the last week. He was a key player of Gigantes, leading his team to a 102-95 win against #2 ranked Santurce in a game of the week. Carolina needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in Group B. Their record at this point is 16 victories and 16 lost games. Doolittle has a very solid season. In 27 games in Puerto Rico he scored 15.0ppg. He also has 8.0rpg, 4.7apg, a FGP of 51.5% and 3PT: 45.6%.

9. Jordan Murphy (200-F/C-1997) of Ponce - 32 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Theo Pinson Jr. (198-G/F-1995) of Guaynabo - 25 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists
